Today, Alden Yachts Corporation of Portsmouth, Rhode Island has announced the signing of a new contract to build a 52' Motor Yacht. The 52 will be hull number 18 in the Alden Yachts 50-56 series, and will be the seventh constructed using post-thermal cured epoxy resin since the company made the transition to epoxy construction. This is the second 52' Motor Yacht that Alden Yachts has sold this summer. |

The yacht will be powered by twin Caterpillar C12 710 HP diesel engines. Her interior will feature a two stateroom, two head arrangement finished in cherry with all the thoughtful touches for which Alden Yachts has long been famous. The 52 Motor Yacht represents the fifth contract signed in the first half of 2005. "We are finally seeing our backlog build to pre-recession numbers. We are quite encouraged with the number of builds we already have under contract, the new prospects we are working with, and the looming boat show season which promises to be one of the best in several years," states David MacFarlane, President of Alden Yachts. |

Her hull was designed by the office of C. Raymond Hunt and is a version of its famous deep-V design. Agile, dry and stable in the roughest conditions, with excellent tracking and wave softening attributes, these hulls have been a favorite among military and professional mariners. The yacht will
further benefit from Alden Yachts' Acoustic Noise Reduction Program
that involves ten different
techniques aimed at producing the quietest powerboats in the industry.
Machinery isolation mounting,
exhaust silencing, vibration dampening and sound blocking and absorbing
are all carefully and thoroughly
addressed. Completion of the 52 Motor Yacht is scheduled for Spring
2006. For more information contact Alden Yachts at 401.683.4200 or email at pressrelease@aldenyachts.com |
