ALDEN YACHTS SIGNS NEW CONTRACT FOR 49' FLYBRIDGE EXPRESS

Date: September 30, 2005

Today, Alden Yachts Corporation of Portsmouth, Rhode Island announced the signing of a new contract to build a 49-foot Flybridge Express. The 49 will be hull number 14 in the Alden Yachts 40-49 Express Series, and will be the fourth 49 constructed since the introduction of that model.
.

"The early success of the 49 indicates we have built a yacht for market conditions, one priced well against the competition and unmatched in fit and finish," said Jim Ewing, vice president of Alden Yachts.

"In some ways I think the 49 is the perfect size. It provides the necessary interior space to allow for very comfortable accommodations - you don't feel that any of the spaces are compromised to fit into a 49-foot yacht. At the same time it is small enough for a couple to easily handle, and with stern and bow thrusters is a breeze to dock."

Ewing further states, "We've planned all summer to have the 49 at the three major boat shows: Newport, Annapolis and Ft. Lauderdale. Newport was a great success - we have a new contract under our belts and some great prospects. We have equally high expectations for the other shows. This shapes up to be a great year for us."

The yacht will be powered by twin Cummins 660 HP diesel engines. Her interior will feature a two-stateroom, two-head arrangement finished in cherry, with all the thoughtful touches for which Alden Yachts has long been famous.

The yacht will further benefit from Alden Yachts' Acoustic Noise Reduction Program that involves ten different techniques aimed at producing the quietest powerboats in the industry. Machinery isolation mounting, exhaust silencing, vibration dampening and sound blocking and absorbing are all carefully and thoroughly addressed. Completion of the 49 Flybridge Express is scheduled for Summer 2006.
